How to set up your artwork
We have prepared the following guide to assist you with your electronic file preparation and submission. If you have a specific problem that is not covered in this guide, or have other questions, please feel free to contact us. Improperly prepared files can cause delays in manufacturing.
What we need when you set up your artwork:
- Supplied at the correct trim size (mm)
- A 3mm bleed on each edge
- A 2 mm Internal safe zone required
- Color Profile CMYK
- Image-based artwork 300dpi
- Single page scrolling PDF
This sometimes differs from time to time depending on the requirement of the printers, if we do require any changes we will let you know.
General Instructions
- We only accept PDF generated artwork, unless you have created the artwork using our designer tool on our website.
- All artwork is required to be 300dpi.
- All artwork must have a 3mm bleed with Trim Marks enabled when you export the artwork. Due to the industrial nature of printing please note that your artwork may shift up to 3mm during the cutting process.
- Artwork must be in CMYK. The only exception to this is if you are ordering artwork with Spot UV, Spot Silver, Spot Pink or Spot Orange. In this case, you will need to create a spot colour according to the instructions below.
- Please note that using gradients in your artwork may result in suboptimal print quality, as standard printing processes may not reproduce gradients smoothly.
- PDF’s are not saved with any ICC profile embedded.
- All fonts MUST be converted to outlines.
If you are providing print-ready artwork it is your responsibility to ensure that files are correct when uploading. Failure to sure may result in production issues.
Artwork Setup
- For all double-sided jobs, we require the artwork to be set up with front and back files combined into one PDF (where first page is the front and the second page is the back.)
- Something to keep in mind is that if you order Gloss or Matt cello 1 sided, the cello will be applied to the front (or the first page of your PDF).
- Also if you are ordering a job with multiple variations, please supply us with 1 PDF per variation.
- To achieve a rich black on solid areas of your artwork, we recommend the breakdown of 40% Cyan 40% Magenta 40% Yellow and 100% Black. For text and fine lines, please just use 100% Black.
Orders with Extra Finishes
